My Background
Hi! My name is Megan and I use she/her pronouns. My interest in the inner workings of the human body started in elementary school with a science project about the circulatory system and progressed through middle school when I would offer shoulder massages to my friends between classes. As a young adult I enrolled at Downeast School of Massage in Waldoboro, Maine; where I learned about muscle origins and insertions, the healing power of touch and the importance of self-care for a sustainable career. Thus began my journey into the world of bodywork.
As with most things in life I tend to move to the beat of my own drummer and I took a 15+ year hiatus from massage when I moved to Portland, Oregon. Though I was no longer providing bodywork, my curiosity about the interplay between the nervous system and the myofascial systems grew as I discovered the practice of yoga. Through skilled cuing and intentional suggestion, I discovered inner body awareness and developed my sense of interoception. Wanting to learn more and dive a little deeper, I completed a 200-hr yoga teacher training at Yoga Refuge in Portland, Oregon.
As my self-care toolbox grew, I became increasingly aware of a thread that was pulling me back to bodywork. Eventually I got licensed as a LMT in OR (#27818) and the desire to share the knowledge I’ve collected grew. Why keep these tools that can help people feel better in their bodies a secret? Most of us need more ease in our lives. I dreamed of starting a business where I helped people find ease in their body through movement education and hand's on work.
Though it has taken some time to convince myself that this dream of mine is in fact wildly possible. I find myself at that conclusion and I am beyond thrilled to be here.
